hiking to see a waterfall

We are planning a trip to the BI at the end of Jan. My son who is 14 has his heart set on hiking to see a waterfall. I would rather do the hike myself then pay a tour guide. Are there any hikes that include a waterfall that are open to the public and fairly easily accessable?

Akaka falls park is admission free, just above Honomu, this is the highest falls in the state. Rainbow falls in Hilo is right off the parking lot, you might recognize it from recent Buick ads or other commercials. All the waterfalls are on the east side of the island.

^The best falls are on private land and the toursw have exclusive right....

Hawaii forest and trails is the best..... yoou will pay over $1000 to fly here..... for a few $ more you will truly enjoy the experience.... dont miss the splendor...

Aloha ktbe, Akaka and Rainbow are twoof the most beautiful rainbows on the islands. Rainbow Falls on Kauai is a must see sometime too.

I agree with Dan, we just did the waterfall hike with Hawaii Forest and Trail and it was outstanding. You not only get to see waterfalls, but you get to walk behind one. They take you on private land that they have permission to go on. Check out their website

when you fly over Hawaii, you realize that the state parks like Akaka, are good but not near the best...... there are hundreds better only on private land....

Hawaii Forest and trails has gotten permission to take you to private paradises that no visitor has a clue exist.( and most locals)..... 80% of the islands beauty is hidden and private..

A quuality tour will un-lock gates to hidden discoveries.......

They are the best here and care about who they take where,,,,,,
