Thanks.

Great with Verizon.

I had no trouble with T-Mobile while I was there too

Verizon is everywhere - great coverage! A few dead spots - like Hideaways beach and other out of the way places, but in for the most part there is good reception.

How about Cingular? Does that work in Honolulu and Hilo?

Just wanted to put my 2 cents in. My brother in-law lives on Maui and he said verizon has great service on the islands. However, you may want to check on your cell plan or even upgrade it to a ';NO ROAMING'; plan. From what I am to understand, verizon makes alot of money from people using thier cell phone in Hawaii and they dont even know they are roaming.

Hope it helps...

Somewhat Sincere......

Mr Bongo.

Need2Go....T-mobile provides GSM service...which is what I need however I am told that T-mobile service is only available in city of Lihue. I this true? Or is it pretty much available throught the island?

I%26#39;m not sure about that. I used my phone all over the island and never seemed to have trouble conecting in most places, even up on the north shore. Signal got a little weak there but it still worked! Used it a lot in Wailua, but that is pretty close to Lihue. I had to be in certain places at the Hyatt in Poipu to get it to work, but it did when I went to the lobby where they told me (the staff at the Hyatt) it would work...and it did. Nice thing about T-Mobile plan that I have....No roaming charges and No Long Distance either! Hope your experiences are as good as mine were!

Aloha :-)

Just returned from Kauai and Maui yesterday. Use Verizon as well and had EXCELLENT coverage on bothe Islands. I had some problems on the road to Hana (only past Hana in some of the more remote areas, but only for a minute or two at a time). And on Kauai, I had no signal north of the Waimea Canyon on 550...
