Lovely,

Without heavy traffic, I cant imagine it taking more than 30 minutes.

I would make reservations ';just incase';.

I had the stuffed Mahi Mahi and it was wonderful but if they ever make the watercress soup for a meal instead of the mini cup they give you to whet your palate, I would order that! There was also another soup that was on the menu and it sounded interesting.

For lunch, the lobster burger!

I was there two weeks ago. It took about 30 minutes from airport. I made a lunch reservation and was glad that I did. I noted a few people leaving because they had to wait for tables. The lunch was good, not great, not as great as previous posts had led me to believe (but that%26#39;s the problem when things are hyped a lot....you just get these incredibly high expectations! It would have probably been great food had I not read and heard so much in advance)

Well, if you must go to Mama%26#39;s then lunch is what you should do. We went for dinner and were disappointed - the food is just not good but perhaps lunch might be a bit different.

What wasn%26#39;t good about the food, Dewtrell? So many people rave about the good food at Mama%26#39;s. For the price you pay, it should be outstanding.

Dew;

Sorry to hear about your food but I might suggest you give them another shot.

In all our years of dining there I can honestly say we have never had a bad meal or even a mediocre one for that manner but I%26#39;m sure every place screws up once and awhile.

I sent my brother in-law there in April for dinner. He and his wife called me after they left and said the food was great. He made his new bride pay for dinner $135.00 I LMAO. She told me pay-backs were coming. Can%26#39;t wait. lol

The drinks were fine but I had Mahi Mahi stuffed with crab and it was just tasteless, I mean it was incredibly bland. My boyfriend had another dish that had many things on it. The kula pork was pretty decent but the remainder of his dish was bland as well. We were very disappointed. And I agree, for the price, it should be outstanding.

I live in L.A. and lived in San Francisco for 5 years... I love good food and don%26#39;t blink an eye in regards to cost because dining out is an experience for me, it%26#39;s not just about the food only. However, I think people are either blinded by the location or something because the food was just not food to demand that kind of money. There are plenty of fine restaurants on Maui where you%26#39;ll get what you pay for, IMO. And nope, I will not try it again... it should be outstanding from the outset and I would rather spend my $150 on a new place and risk having bad or good food, or going to a place where I know the food is good vs. where the food is bad.

My friend was surprised we didn%26#39;t like it either but than I started hearing similar experiences from other people who have dined there. My friend said she%26#39;s only had chicken, she doesn%26#39;t eat seafood, so maybe that had something to do with it.

I say, if you must go... go for a drink, pupus and take some pictures. I would not mess with having a complete dinner, nor would I make it THE place to visit for dinner. Ferroros at the Four Seasons is much better.

Wow, that is so surprising, Dewtrell. Sorry you had a bad experience. We had such delicious fish dishes when we were there. I had opakapaka, and I think my husband had opah. We preferred the flavors in my dish a little bit more than we did my husband%26#39;s, but both meals were outstanding.

Ya, perhaps it was an off night but a restaurant like that should never have an off night. Believe me... I love good food and was quite PO%26#39;d. And given that it was our first night, we had many great dinners afterwards.
