Luggage Tags: Where can you find inexpensive tags?

I just purchased another set of luggage at a Mervyn%26#39;s super-sale yesterday since my kids will be coming. It is a quality 1200 fabric, 5-piece set: 28';, 26'; 22'; 24'; duffel, and a small carryall. Retailed $150, got it for $50 after all promotions and discounts were taken (geez, did they make any money?).

So Now I%26#39;m looking for names tags for the luggage. These are priced like gold. Seems to be about $4 each on average for a plastic tag. I%26#39;d hate to pay more for tags than the luggage itself.

Where can you find inexpensive tags?

At the airport check in counter! No kidding, I use the free ones they have there all the time; just replace them when they get ruined. All of the plastic ones I%26#39;ve used get damaged or ripped off.

you can get a pkg of 2 for about $1 at Wal-Mart.

Get them at the airport, or have the kids make their own using cardstock and cable ties to attach them. ABC stores in Hawaii sell really cute cheap ones that are shaped like flip flops, humu humus, aloha shirts, etc. They might like those for a trip souvenier!

ventureman

silly question but didnt your luggage come with tags hanging from the handles

no tags. There is a hidden tag sown in. Hidden so well that I never new it was there until this week. I would rather have a tag hanging off the bag.

I%26#39;ve read that they recommend two tags per bag: 1 attached to the outside, the other attached inside (should the outside tag get torn off).

I just use the ones at the airport also.

Ooops, my giant suitcase also has a tag on the back that you slip in, but I still hook on one of the free ones at the counter.

Vman! what a great deal, and I was at Mervyn%26#39;s yesterday and didn%26#39;t look at the luggage. do you think they still have some today?

and I have a couple of the aloha shirt tags from ABC stores, Walmart on any island has them too. they haven%26#39;t come off yet. and it makes it easier to spot the luggage, those and the 200 watt colored ribbons I put on the handles. no mistaking which bags are mine!

as i posted earlier i never use my home address on these tags

and i put a printout of my trip schedule incl flights and the hotel i am staying at on top of the stuff just before i zip her up and another copy in an outside pocket

Lougee, what a great idea! Im committing that one to memory!
