how far in advance for booking flights?

How far in advance did everyone book their flights to Maui? We have to fly out of Calgary and they recently cancelled all charters from there to Maui. However, we have heard that Harmony Airways is supposed to start charter flights this Fall. Our condo is booked so I am hoping the flight schedules with coordinate. We could fly a regular airline but it is a lot more expensive.

YMMV, but I am going in Sept and I just bought my ticket last nite. I found a price that I was comfortable paying, and was the lowest I could find on any of the online sites.

On the radio the other day, they said North West is jacking their prices up $50 a ticket each way.... due to fuel costs.. The report did not say if other airlines would follow, but I don%26#39;t see the cost of fuel going down any time so, so I wanted to make sure I got a price I was ok with. (And to make sure, I will not look for any other prices from here on out!!! LOL)

how far in advance for booking flights?

going in october and bought on 4/25----------until i have bought a plane tix its not a vacation just a thought--------caught good prices-- checked today and prices are higher then in april

try www.airtohawaii.com

Flying there on halloween, and bought our tix about 1 month ago. We just came across really great prices one night. I did find out some interesting information that I didn%26#39;t know before -- we booked through United, and apparently, if we find a cheaper price on the same exact flight, we can just call the airline and get the difference.

I did mine about 300 to 320 days out. Can%26#39;t remember now. And the (general) price did not go down. There was a price reduction on a specific set of flights with better times, but that was it.

Best of luck.

It depends on the airline price and whether or not I am using miles, if I am using miles I book way in advance, booked trip for this month in November.

lovely - We booked in March for our July trip but I%26#39;ve since seen a seat sale that was $100 cheaper each - I was really miffed about that. But you just never know if there will be a seat sale or not. If you%26#39;re flying Harmony from Calgary, check out the site jubileetravel.com Their flights were cheaper for Harmony than the Harmony website.

Even our friend who%26#39;s a travel agent couldn%26#39;t match their price ($579 Cdn return plus all of the applicable taxes)

So we booked our flight with Jubilee Travel and our condo with our friend.

On a side note - never been to Sparwood but recently worked with a guy who grew up there! I understand it%26#39;s a pretty place.

Once we bought tickets on Hawaiian, then my mother-in-law saw them run a special about a month later. I called them up and they refunded us the difference. You never know.

I checked with Hawaiian about a month about buying tickets 330 days out and they had the nerve to ask $985 per ticket.

It%26#39;s a crap shoot. I bought 6 months ago. Hawaiian just sent me a newsletter and they are runnign a special this month. $129.00 each way. I will be watching to see what happens in July and do what Hula did if I see a cheaper price. 28 days to go!!

All depends on when you go and whether you are using miles. I usually book 6 months in advance for Christmas time frame to get the dates I want. I%26#39;ll be using ff miles for the 2006 trip, and eventhough I booked in April, I encountered many problems with the original dates I wanted. (I was originally going in beginning January, but ended up doing beginning Febuary instead due to lack of convenient flight times/dates.)

I have plenty of experience with booking in advance with a travel agent that was a friend of a friend, and when the airline reduce pricing, she would automatically rebook for us. Credit would just show up on my credit card statement. Nowadays I book myself quite a bit, and have to pay attention to reduced fares myself. Well, worth it.
