One more question. You guys have been very helpful. In exchange I am trying to hit the areas I have some expertise to pay back the collective knowledge-beast.
We are in Maui for a week - first timers.
We have a low rate condo for first 5 days, in Wailea.
For the last two nights, what do you recommend?
a. staying in south maui for centrally located convenience
b. getting a place in lahaina/kaanapali for a change of pace/scenery
c. gettting a place in Hana to make the most of that drive
Thanks. We are a couple in our thirties, on a budget, and a little concerned Wailea might be a bit too quiet and posh for our likings.
A Complement Location to Wailea
Wailea is wonderful, I don%26#39;t think you will find it too quiet, it is very close to Kihei which is a busy town and very affordable. Did you already rent in Wailea? I am just wondering where you found a ';low rate'; unit there?
A Complement Location to Wailea
If you are going to have to move for a couple days I would suggest Kaanapali area. Try Mahina Surf or Polynesian Shores (dot com) for 1 bedroom ocean front quiet condos for under $125 per night. It will be a nice change to move to the other ';side'; of the island.
In Wailea we were looking at a studio condo at Grand Champions. Would love to hear your thoughts on this location!
Grand Champions is a very nice complex. We have some friends that live there full time. Very beautiful grounds, pools and views. I think it%26#39;s a great place.
It is not on the beach though, you%26#39;ll have to drive to beaches but I am sure you know that. We have stayed at Ekahi Village and Wailea Village a few times but they are located on the beach path so you can hop on the path and jump from resort to resort.
