kellie-jo beach @ the Hololani

Kellie-jo, so sorry it has taken so long to get the info on the beach at the Hololani. I did talk to my friend who stayed there. They loved the Hololani, but can you believe it, they didn%26#39;t go in the ocean in front of the Hololani! She said they were so busy with everything else, they just never went down to the beach. I wish I had more info for you.

When are you going(I forgot)? Where do you live here in Mich.?

There are some really great maps put out by the Visitors Bureau in Hawaii. They are wonderful for getting around, very colorful and easy to read, and show lots of hotel locations. On the Maui map, it shows all of the different areas going north from Lahaina. The Hololani is in the Kahana area along that stretch. If you call 1-800-525-maui, or go to www.visitmaui.com, I%26#39;m sure you can get one of these Maui maps. In fact, you may be able to get maps for the other islands too....just ask or check it out on line. I love these maps and have 2 sets for four of the islands. One set is pretty used looking, and the other set is for back up!

Kellie-jo,

We stayed at the Hololani a few years ago. LOVED the place, but the beach is just so-so. Prefer the beaches in Kaanapali proper, Napili or Kapalua. From what I remember, there%26#39;s not much of it (beach), it drops off steeply, there%26#39;s lots of coral and it was terribly windy everyday while we were there. The pool area is ok, but if we wanted beach, we drove to others. You can walk to Gateway Shopping Center just down the road, where there%26#39;s McDonalds, Roy%26#39;s and Outback. Also Whaler%26#39;s General Store (like ABC) and other touristy shops. Hope this helps...

Kellie-Jo, I have been to the Kaanapali area 3 times and haven%26#39;t had a problem with rain. The trade winds, at certain times of the day can be kicking up, but not to the point of it being a problem.

My email is theranch@tir.com

I am from Mt. Pleasant, moved to Flint, then Brighton, now about 30 miles from Port Huron.

Patti- you should be waching the Pistons. I am staying at the Embassy in Kanaapali- how foar is it to Honolua Bay and have you ever snorkelled there? Thanks

Kellie-jo~~I will be leaving Tuesday the 21st, and staying at the Hololani, condo #A204. I will let you know how we liked it. My brother-in-law and his wife will be staying in #A304. Which one have you booked? (I will try to check it out for you).

We did have a zipline tour booked, but found out, that it is a 2 hour drive from the Kahana area, so we canceled.

I haven%26#39;t been to Honolua Bay. I highly recommend getting the Maui Revealed book. It will be so worth it for you. Perhaps someone will post on the distance to H. Bay for you.

Yes, I am watching the Pistons....very sad right now. I%26#39;m hoping being back at the Palace for the next 2 games will give them some get-up-and-go! The fans will be crazy.

I would say Honolua Bay is about 10-15 minutes up the road from Hololani. Beautiful spot! I haven%26#39;t personally snorkeled there, but I%26#39;ve heard the waters can be rough, making it difficult. I wish I remembered what unit we stayed in at Hololani, but I don%26#39;t. It was a corner unit with panoramic views.

D.Jones we are staying in A-104 go to www.kahanaoasis.com

we will be in Maui June 10-20 2006 long waite but I am sure it is worth the waite.Any information you pass along will be great thank you

Kellie-jo

I checked out the web site, wish I would of seen that one. We would of liked being on the 1st floor. The place looks nice, now I%26#39;m getting excited! I will let you know how it is when we return.
