Trip Report Part 1 - Best new things we did:

The two 14 year old girls loved their surfing lesson from Goofy Foot. We just walked in one morning and asked if they had any groups open. Their instructor was ';Arma'; - too old to be of interest to them (he was ancient, nearly 30) - anyway he was a great communicator and did a good job instructing them. They both got up on their first waves. They were really sore and bruised the next day - did not bug us to rent a board!

Our friends did the America%26#39;s Cup sail and loved it - got completely soaked but had a blast on the 11 am sail.

As always, A Saigon Cafe, Da Kitchen, and Aloha Mixed Plate were great. Whoops, those are not new things, those are repeats!

Trip Report Part 1 - Best new things we did:

I%26#39;m glad to hear that thirty is old! Our son wants surfing lessons, I am going to look into it this trip. He%26#39;s so cute right now, his hair is grown out, he would look fantastic on a surfboard. I wanted to hi-light his hair but he wouldn%26#39;t let me.

Does Goofy Foot have lessons in south maui?

Trip Report Part 1 - Best new things we did:

There are lessons offered at Charlie Young beach just west of Kam I. I%26#39;m not sure what company runs them. I%26#39;d suggest checking elsewhere as this is where the sewage outfall can foul the water.

There were several schools offering lessons in Kihei, at Cove Park and Kam I. Do a google search - I think we just threw away the paper with all the notes on it!

I think your son would love it - they put them in groups of 4 or 5 similar ages. The lessons were $55 for a two hour group lesson. They spent about a half hour on the beach learning the basics and then were out in the water the rest of the time.

I know that is impossible to see, but that is surferwannabe also know as mammasgurl....resting on her board in Lahaina!

I cant see her face but she looks great in her Rash gaurd, and I bet it matched her suit!

Oh my gosh, she never managed to find a rash guard that fit her specifics in terms of color, style and price, so she used the one the surf school provided! When you make kids pay for their own stuff they make such better decisions!

Thanks, I think he would like a group lesson.

Ask for Arma (his nickname is Armadillo) if you hit Goofy Foot. I watched all the instructors and was impressed with him. He is early 30%26#39;s, long surfer hair tied up in a knot, works 12 hours a week! What a life. Hey, maybe Hula and Chico can start a surfing school for old pharts...we can serve a nice breakfast, offer massages after the lesson (that would be Jeeper%26#39;s job, right?) and Pappy can offer beginner diving courses. I%26#39;ll run the office and Hula can take care of the pretty flowers and greeting all the students with her cheery manner. Vman can come by once in a while to entertain with his gymnastics routine!
