We were thinking of staying at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort in August with our 2 young children (6 months and 3 yrs) since the sandy bottom pool looks great for the kids. But my husband is a diver and wants a hotel that he can shore dive from without having to drive to a nearby beach. Is this possible at the Sheraton?
Thanks for any suggestions.
Diving at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay ResortAloha........
You are positioned by the best night dive....the Manta Ray dive in about 20 t0 30 feet.. You cab seei ti from the surface......there is daddy !!!
This Is also a departure point for a lot of boat dives. Jacks and Paradise both offer good trips from here. This si too the opint to see Kealakekula Bay the best snorkel in the State.

Diving at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay ResortWe got a great price using the Starwood discount (free program). We have an ocean front deluxe room for 225.00 a night. We are very excited about staying at the Sheraton because it is close to the ocean, it is newly renovated (clean!), has a great pool, it is within walking distance to where our boat tour starts to go to Captain Cook monument, and it is only a quick drive to lots of eating options other than fancy hotel restaurants that are expensive (important with young children). It is also closer to Place of Refuge compared to the resorts in Kohala.
Thank you for your replies. So are you saying that you can enter the ocean from the Sheraton property with all the scuba gear on? My husband is looking to be able to walk to the beach with his gear and dive from the property without being slammed into the rocks. Is this possible?
We are also contemplating the Marriot Waikoloa (we know about the renovations). Which would be a better resort for us? They are both roughly the same price for us (hotels.com).
Which is in the best area?
Thanks!
