Any recs re: Hyatt vs Mariott; I noticed that the Mariott is near the airport..is it too noisy there?
Price difference is about $70 more to stay at the Hyatt. Is it worth spending the add%26#39; money? Any thoughts?
Kauai--Hyatt vs Mariott
The Hyatt is fantastic. The Marriott has beautiful grounds but the view is of the bay rather than the ocean. The ships port right nearby. The noise from the airport will not bother you.

I would definetly choose the Hyatt. You can always go to Duke%26#39;s at the Marriott for dinner or pupu%26#39;s.
anyone else%26#39;s comments? still trying to decide between the 2..
Depends on what you want. Are you planning to spend most of your time at the resort? The Hyatt is for you. If not, and that%26#39;s $70/DAY more for the Hyatt, I%26#39;d go with the Marriott. Heck, even $70 for the week is a nice dinner for two.
I%26#39;ve never experienced any plane noise at the Marriott, and IMHO, its location is more convenient to the rest of the island than the Hyatt.
I really don%26#39;t like the view at the Marriott. I did not hear airport noise but it is located on a working port and the cruise ships park there. My friend works as a pastry chef there and says that the beach has been closed many times because highlevels of bacteria. I also think the atmosphere at the Hyatt is far superior. It would be a very easy choice for me.
I can%26#39;t telly you anything about the Hyatt. Did stay at the Marriott in Lihue, and wrote a factual review and it has a link to many good photos of it. The link address is too long to put in this message. use the search function for this title
