Good choice for your tour ideas :-)
can you get good tours if you book after you arrive?
We did not book anything until we had arrived in Waikiki last July (2004). We stayed at the Ohana Waikiki West and just used their tour desk. We were there for a week. The director booked everything for us. I%26#39;m sure the Marriott will also have a tour desk. We kind of knew the sorts of things that we wanted and they gave us the pamphlets and a general idea of what to expect and then we just chose when we wanted to go. It helps to have some flexibility in your schedule in case things are busy. For example we ended up going to the Polynesian Cultural Centre on the Monday instead of a Friday. We went on a combined Pearl Harbour/Circle Tour with E Noa Tours. We went on a smaller tour bus and there were only about 15 of us all together. It was great because it felt so personal and they picked us up right at our hotel. They also knew right away to go early to get into Pearl Harbour because if its really busy, they will stop letting people in well before closing. Of course there are other companies that give equal service. Just depends on what kind of tour you are looking for because there are many different tours operated through a variety of companies.
We also booked a submarine tour (that departs from the Hilton) at the tour desk. They also pickup right from your hotel.
Hope this helps. Have a great trip!
Forgot to mention that like the first post we used coupons. We got discounts on the submarine ride. Also had discounts for the zoo and aquarium. The coupon booklets are all over the place in Waikiki - near newpaper boxes on the streets.
thanks everyone for the tips didn%26#39;t know about coupons thanks again
Just returned from Waikiki and we booked all of our tours after we arrived. We found the cheapest, was at a place on Saratoga Road and a place called Cheap Tours. We booked everything thru there and the only thing we didn%26#39;t get to do was the Shark Adventure and that was only due to bad weather. You shouldn%26#39;t have any problems. Also, you don%26#39;t really need to book a tour for Pearl Harbor unless you want to, we just went and only had to wait about 1 hour and we had a wonderful day. One more tip try going up to North Shore, the waves there are great and we spent two whole days up there, at the beaches. Have a safe and great trip!!
Forgot one thing, try to do the Atlantis submarine tour, it departs from the Hilton, and it was awesome!!!!
EVERY time we%26#39;ve gone to Hawaii, we%26#39;ve done it at the breakfast orientation and it%26#39;s worked out GREAT. continue to do it that way, you%26#39;ll be happy :)
