I am going to Hawaii for my honeymoon in late August/early September. We are spending 1 week on Kauai %26amp; 1 on Maui. I booked the trip through a travel agency and it came w/ an economy car. I am considering upgrading to a convertible. It costs $160 per week + $75 change fee imposed by the travel agent. The total cost of upgrading is $395. In your opinion, should I spend this extra money to have a convertible on the islands?
Is it worth it to rent a convertible in Hawaii??In a word, no. Hopefully you won%26#39;t be in the car that much, and when you are, just roll down the windows. Take the $400 in savings and go for a open door helicopter tour in Kauai, that%26#39;s what we%26#39;re doing. Just one guys opinion.
Is it worth it to rent a convertible in Hawaii??We have had a convertible on our last 2 trips to HI one on Kauai and one on Maui. Before that we were jealous every time we saw a couple in a convertible and we had a regular car. It%26#39;s you honeymoon and if you have the money I would for sure spend the extra money. It will be very fun to drive around in Sept with your top down. If you get hot just turn on air conditioner.
Aloha Goin%26#39;toHawaii,
Convertible? On your Honeymoon in Hawaii? If those aren%26#39;t good-enuf justifications (within reason), what would be?
Call me a dirty-dog, but back in February, reserved economy car at five different agencies. Took local phone #%26#39;s and, while waiting for luggage to show-up, called on cell phone and asked what today%26#39;s price was for a convertible upgrade: Saved a bunch (by my penny-pinching standards).
If possible, would try for UKGuy%26#39;s Helicopter recommendation on Kauai, with rag-top on Maui; going topless on the (slow/scenic) road to Hana is Paradise to the max!
Have a Great Time Beautiful and, if either one of you even thinks about behavin%26#39;, in a word: DON%26#39;T!!!
Are you a Costco member? I ask as I booked a convertible through their website link to alamo and got the convertible for only $200 over a mid size. It%26#39;s my wife%26#39;s first trip to Maui so I figured we%26#39;d spend a little bit more. Is it worth $400? Not to me as I go to Maui primarily to crash on the beach.
