Snorkeling - Do I need to bring a noodle or can i rent one?

Hi,

Can you tell me if these snorkeling shops also let us rent a some type of life preserver? I am not that good of a swimmer and would feel safer with somehting to hold on..

thanks

Absolutely, and you can buy them at the ABC stores and dive shops. They have small boogie type boards that keep you afloat while you snorkel or a Noodle, a long styrofoam tube, can be purchased very cheaply. We have a tub full of Noodles around our pool for folks to use for floating seats in the water!

We rented a boogie board and noodles from a shop in Kihei. Weekly rental came out to about $25.

Snorkel Bob%26#39;s and other shops also have snorkeling vests or floatation belts you can rent.

The last time we went to Maui, we bought them for around $1.99 each at the K-mart on Dairy Rd. Not sure whether it is still there...but you can check it out.

Most of the Boats have the noodles, but I would ask in advance when you make your reservation. All of the ones that we went on had them for anyones use.

I%26#39;m going to have my kids with me. Can you use waterskiing type life preservers when snorkeling? That would be one less thing I would have to buy.

Not sure. I would ask the boat if they have some to use, as you might not want to bring them with you. The less you bring with, the more you can buy and bring home with you. The boast usually have life vests you can use.

1) K-Mart is still there, there is also a Wal-Mart and Longs has noodles.

2) Often the condo will have noodles or boogie boards left by previous guests.
