planning trip for first time

Hi, I%26#39;ve decided to go with family to Maui this May. Can anyone give us any advice on where to stay or where to visit? We%26#39;re looking for condos, cottages or vacation rentals to stay at. Can anyone recommend any? Thanks!

Buy a guidebook. There are several available. Look at all the options and then ask advice here. Check the places that are graded on this website and other websites. Have fun planning and dreaming.

We%26#39;ll be going to maui this May as well. I%26#39;ve sorta already planned it out. We%26#39;ll do a van tour with Valley Isle Excursions, a rafting tour to Lanai with Captain Steve%26#39;s, the Old Lahaina Luau, and a snorkel tour w/ Four Winds II to Molokini( I%26#39;ve done this one B4 on previous trips to Maui, but it%26#39;ll be my husbands first time and i wanted him to see it all). My favorite beach is Makena Beach A.K.A Big beach. It%26#39;s got the nicest sand and really clear water. It%26#39;s away from all the comotion. On previous trips we%26#39;ve stayed @ Fairmont Kea Lani( expensive but very nice), and at a condo resort called Maui Hill in Kehei. This one is great for families, great prices, close to beaches.Clean rooms and beautiful grouds.Makes you feel like you live there. This time we%26#39;ll be staying in Kaanapali, just to check out the difference. Anyways good luck with ur trip planning!

I have been to Maui 3 times in the past 12 months and absoulutely love it. We like to stay in Kihei. It is only 7 miles from the airport (Lahiana and Kaanapali are 30 plus) and remember island driving is much different. Kihei is not quite as touristy as Lahiana and Kaanapali. Although the two areas are very nice. We love the Maui Kamaole condos in Kihei the best.

Favorite things to do:

1 Helicopter ride (you can%26#39;t miss it!)

2 Drive around the island (there is so much to explore)

3 Zip lines eco adventure

4 A snorkel cruise (blue water rafting was awsome, but very extreme, not for kids or elderly, Pacific Whale Foundation is better for families with kids)

5 A Luau (Old Lahiana is the best, but they are all good)

6 Spending the day at the beach, and you have to stay for a breathtaking sunset!

Most of all have fun don%26#39;t overbook your days because you will find so much you want to do while you are there and not enough time to enjoy it all! Aloha
