Hello again, NashvilleRed here. Found 2 interesting places and need some help. Anybody have comments about Hana Maui (Sea Ranch or Bay Cottages) and\or Maui Hyatt?
Still in the early planning stages.
Thank you all,
Best place to stay.

Best place to stay.
I have not stayed at either but they vary greatly, Hana is quiet, beaustiful but nothing around and Kaanapali is a very busy tourist resort area.
Hana is also much wetter than the west side but it is, indeed, beautiful.
The Hana Maui is a beautiful resort with Plantation style cottages and wonderful views from every room. Be aware that if you stay in Hana, you have a choice between about 2 restaurants, Very little shopping (most of which is at the Hana Maui) and Hana gets on average about 300 or more inches or rain a year, ie why it is a rain forest. It is quite beautiful, I just don%26#39;t know if you would want to spend more than 3 or so days there. Unless of course, you really like seclusion.
The Hyatt is one of the Large resort hotels on Kaanapali Beach. Walking distance to almost every restaurant you wil need, shopping, great pools at the resort, beach is not great, but a few resorts up at the Kaanapali Alii is a great beach, and it gets better from there towards the Sheraton. All Hyatts and Grand Hyatts are redoing the beds to be more comfortable, to compete with Westin Beds, so the beds there are quite nice. If you are planning on splitting your time between the 2 resorts, I think you have made 2 wonderful decisions. Have a wonderful trip. p.s. I have sayed a most of the resorts on Kaanapali Beach, so if you have any more questions, let me know.
Wow, sounds like I%26#39;d rather be on the Hyatt side. Any other resorts you%26#39;d recommend other than the Hyatt? We will be renting a car so we can sight see on our own. We also considered a private house but are unable to pin point a good one for less than $900 a night. We are staying 7 nights, any other help is greatly appreciated.
You guys are the best.
We spent 2 days at the Hotel Hana Maui week before last. Yes, it%26#39;s secluded, but we loved it. There%26#39;s no tv, no phone, even no clock in your room, but the rooms are just out-of-this-world. We ate in the hotel dining room and really enjoyed it. They%26#39;ve got a beautiful pool, with just my husband and me and two other couples. It%26#39;s very low-key, very service oriented. All kinds of goodies (to eat) in your room, all part of room rate. Of course, lei and fresh drink on arrival, but then more fresh fruit and banana bread in room. Bottle of champagne and plenty of sodas in refrigerator. I%26#39;ve been married almost 30 years, but to me, this would be honeymoon heaven!
Have you considered a condo? Have a look on www.vrbo.com
In Kaanapali, check out the Westin Maui, Sheraton, Four seasons, or the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas.
In Weilea, Check out the Grand Weilea, The Fairmont Kea Lani.
You can drive to hana for the day, and that will give you all you need to see, exploring the wateralls etc on the way.
I am coming to Nashvillle pretty soon too. Hows the weather.
I do have my work cut out for me. But you all have given me lots to work with.
The weather here in Nashville (for the moment) is great! 82 degrees and low humidity, lots of sunshine. Will get very hot %26amp; humid next week but come on over, it%26#39;s all good!
Check out the Kapalua Bay Hotel too. Fantastic place.
Wailea ~~~~ Check out the Maui Prince. Stayed there in 2000 and it was great. Much busier in Waliea and much more peaceful in Kapalua.
