Are there any places on the islands proposing turtle soup or is it prohibited to catch turtles for culinary needs?

I have never heard of any places serving turtle soup in Hawaii. It might be because that is illegal.

Both the green sea turtles and hawksbill turtles in Hawaii are protected. This is a direct quote from the PWF website with applies to both types of turtles.

';Listed as a threatened species and protected in Hawaii under state law, the federal Endangered Species Act, and listed under the Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species (CITES), making it illegal to import or export turtle products. It is illegal to kill, capture, or harass sea turtles.';

Have heard rumors that many restaurants will do nasty things to your food if you even ask about Turtle Soup.

Suggest an ';I Love Turtles'; T-Shirt instead!

Nevermind then, will enjoy the trip with live turtles in the ocean. Thanks for the advise not raising up this subject at the restaurants. Less than 2 months left...
