Big Island Luaus

Hi , I was wondering if anyone has any ideas for a decent Luau that is not too far awaoy from the Hilton Waikoloa Village? Thanks

Proably the Mauna Kea.....there are some better but the location is beyond the others, Hiltons is next to the maint. yard and no atmosphere... well not as good as it could be

Kona Village is south 14 miles and in a classic setting but the beach at the Mauna Kea is not to be matched in my opinion.

I like the old and grand Mauna kea and the location.....

it is 8 miles north of the Hilton.....

at a laua I feel it is the atmosphere rather than the food which all is sort of the same.....it is the feel you get fron the experience.....poi is poi.

I think the Maunka Kea, or any other Luau for that matter, is a big %26#39;ol waste of money. I really enjoyed the show but I don%26#39;t think it was worth the $80 and I will never go to one again. Service was slow, food was meager and show was only like 45 min...all in all a pretty mediocore night. I know ';dinner and a show'; prolly normally costs that much but I just was not impressed.

I%26#39;d rather spend my money and go on another heliocopter ride or another snorkling adventure, or order room service! I enjoyed every wonderful minute of my 10 day trip there, but this was probably at the bottom of the list.

*shrug* but that%26#39;s probably just me.

Cb, That%26#39;s helpful too!! Never been to Hawaii or a Luau so all info is very helpful to us. Hubby said, '; goin to Hawaii, have to do a luau'; but I am not so sure so thanks for the input.

I%26#39;d pass on the luau, unless someone in your party is dying to go to one. then I%26#39;d recommend Kona Village Resort, or the Mauna Kea Resort luaus.

Went to The ';Luau'; @ Sheraton Keauhou four months ago and it was a JOKE (Jokeau?). The next worse we%26#39;ve been to, on any of the Islands, was 100+% better.
