Aloha,
We are looking for a nice sunset cruise (aka booze cruise). We just realized that we have a baby-sitter for our 6-year-old while on Oahu (!) and can go out a couple of nights as a couple ~ wow! We did a booze cruise in Cabo for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. Wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a fun one (food optional, but tropical drinks are a MUST!) on Oahu...
Mahalo!
Sunset Cruise?
The have fastastic sunset sails in waikiki, take one of the catamarans that leave from the beach in front of the hotels. Our favorite is the Na Hoku that is parked between the moana and outrigger, I would also recommend the reef that is located not surprisingly at the reef. The boats go out all day every couple of hours, the sunset sail is usually at 5:30 and a little longer than the day rides. They don%26#39;t advertise or have coupons, for the sunset sail you need to reserve in advance so you need to drop by the beach and put your name in during the day. On our last trip the Na Hoku was $25 that included all you can drink beer wine and mai tais. Bring cash, no credit cards. Also bring a camera, they go out past diamond head so you can get some great pictures. It is also fabulous to see waikiki from the water at dusk, of course you can see the green flash at sunset.
In cabo did you go on the pez gato, the waikiki boats are a little more laid back than in cabo, they play reggae music instead of the latin disco, staff is just as fun.
There are a couple of pictures of the na hoku in the hotel review section under outrigger candid photos. Don%26#39;t know how anyone can take such nice pictures and not venture out. I have been selling this activity on TA for months but not getting any takers so give it a try.
Have fun,
Sunset Cruise?
THANK YOU, longboard!!! I think this is just perfect for what we were thinking! Is it this boat? http://nahokuii.com/index.shtml
This looks like it leaves from Kuhio beach instead of Royal-Moana beach so this may be a different one. I%26#39;ll try searching the Outrigger candid photos as well but this puts me to a great start.
Yep, Pez Gato in Cabo. We had a great time on it 10 years ago, but will never forget it. Still remember how fun the crew was (the guy with the really long ponytail stands out). My husband and I are long overdue for another booze cruise!
Mahalo for the recommendation ~ we really appreciate it! I%26#39;ll try to remember to post a review when we get back. Aloha!
thats the boat leaves right next to the moana really can%26#39;t miss it with the colored sails, never seen that web site- thanks captain krash and dallas now work at the reef boat. I hope that web site doesn%26#39;t scare anyone off.
This looks like a blast. Thanks for posting the site info. Looking forward to your review glowbug!
Where did you guys find a babysitter, by the way?
Aloha, beachbumwannabe!
I think it looks great, too! Of course I%26#39;ll need to lose about 25+ pounds in the next 10 days to stand next to any of those women in swimsuits shown in the photos!
We are going to be on Oahu for my cousin%26#39;s wedding. My dad %26amp; step-mom are going to be there. They have lamented that they have done Hawaii so many times that they aren%26#39;t staying very long, and mostly want to lie on the beach %26amp; relax. Even though they are not yet even in their 60%26#39;s, they go to bed between 8-9 every night. So..........the PERFECT baby-sitting arrangement! Of the 4 nights on Hawaii, one is the day of arrival, one is the wedding, and 2 are for us to go %26amp; play ~ hurray! (Sure sounds like we don%26#39;t get out much, huh?)
I think I may have seen other posts in the past about childcare while there. Our daughter has never had a babysitter outside of the family, so it%26#39;s something that I am not personally comfortable with...
When is your trip again?
bump for the booze cruise question
