Ginger?

Anyone ever heard of using ginger to prevent car sickness? I talked to my doctor today about giving me something for when we drive the road to Hana. I told him it was going to be our wedding/honeymoon and I did NOT want to spend any time being sick or drowsy, if possible. He swears by using ginger. (btw......he%26#39;s a fairly young doc and not some old goofball trying to prescribe weird remedies.......umm I hope anyway on that last part) I don%26#39;t ever remember eating ginger, but he said you could get ginger snap cookies and a lot of places have ginger candies. SO ginger is one more thing on my list. Just thought I%26#39;d pass that info on. Only 3 more days till we leave!!! WOOHOO :)

Ginger?

The ginger candies work really well for my b/f%26#39;s daughter. We make sure she has a bunch for a trip out to Keanae or Hana. Imagine that would work good for Haleakala too.

Ginger?

AR, I have heard of using ginger but didnt realize it could be taken through cookies! I might have to be car sick more often!

Have a grand time in Maui, and make lots of prints in the sand! May your wedding go smoothly and your honeymoon be passionately perfect!

Congratulations %26amp; Mazaltov!

ssshhh, don%26#39;t tell anyone I am here. A corny but cute memory is to write your names in the sand with a nice heart circling them and take a photo. Your hubby may think you%26#39;re silly, but I guarantee you will love that photo years from now. Take a flower with you to toss on the sand near your names!

your might want to consider meclezine-an over the counter drun used to combat seasickness- or the brand name bonine--no side effects-- if you get car sick you should take this medicine before you start driving

Chico: Glad to see your snuck in....I won%26#39;t tell anyone! Stick with us and give the air a chance to clear.

Your suggestion is great. While in Cuba my daughter wrote Cuba and the year in the sand and when in Jamaica she wrote Hey Mon with the year. She took photos of both and they are very cool.

I have heard of using ginger, wouldn%26#39;t that go along with giving someone ginger ale to drink when they feel sick?

I get motion sick and here%26#39;s the remedy I have tried: 1/2 teaspoon of ginger powder dissolved in a glass of water, drink 20 min before driving. I also buy candied ginger chunks in the baking section - these are great to nibble on while in the car.

I have heard of this but never tried it. I get a pill that is only aviable in Mexico. It work great. So far have had to ill effects. Don%26#39;t know what%26#39;s in it. Hummmm! Chico you keep posting girl I need you guys. PLease.

Step aside Y%26#39;all; and permit the Captain of motion sickness to pontificate! (';qualifications: used to work on 45th floor of high-rise office building. On a good day, I could take the elevator half-way/stairs the rest...fast-forwarding to exhibit #1,243; a few weeks ago, became woozy (ok, more so than normal) on an escalator.

Anyway, only relief (including wasted surgery) has been via Ginger EXTRACT capsules; beginning six hours before activity. Also, a product called ';MotionEaze'; boosts the efficacy of Ginger. It%26#39;s a liquid; place a dab behind each ear every 15 minutes.

Wiith reference to GingerAle; be sure the product you buy contains the real stuff; most use artifical ingredients.

Staying as cool as possible helps and absolutely do not agree with commonplace advice to ';focus on land if possible';; sends conflicting signals to the brain (body says I%26#39;m moving/eyes say shouldn%26#39;t be true).

Despite the above, never miss a Whale-watching trip while in Hawaii: No way! Hana; will help if you drive - slowly - and stop frequently (a good idea anyway).

Kama: Where would I find the ginger extract capsules? Would they be in a health food store?
