Hotels with house band-good for dancing?

I was in Cancun a few years ago, and our hotel had a really nice house band that played in the lobby each evening. It was very nice to just sit and listen and have a drink, but also good if you wanted to dance a little. Played basic oldies and cover songs, mostly. One night a small wedding party came out to enjoy the band and danced a bit.

Now I am planning a small wedding on Maui, and I%26#39;m wondering if anything similar exists at any of the hotels or restaurants. My party won%26#39;t be large enough to justify hiring a DJ ourselves, however we might like to do a little dancing if there is opportunity somewhere. I thought about Tsunami, but maybe mom and dad and grandma would be a little uncomfortable there. We%26#39;d probably prefer South Maui, but suggestions in West Maui would be helpful, too.

Any ideas?

Call the Maui Coast Hotel on Kihei Rd. They have a band there most nights. I%26#39;m not sure if there is a dance floor or not.

Maui Coast%26#39;s entertainment is very good, but it is happy hour entertainment, and ususally it is just a singer with a guitar. Not much for dancing.

I can%26#39;t think of any hotel that has a cover/oldies band. Most of the hotel/resort entertainment I can think of is local, Hawaiian, or jazz. Tsunami is kind of loud dance music, some meat market stuff going on.

When are you going to be here? Mulligans might be a good option for you. What night of the week?

The wedding will probably happen on a Saturday evening. We will probably go somewhere for dinner (Possibly the Seawatch or Nick%26#39;s Fishmarket) then head over somewhere for dancing. We%26#39;ll probably be staying in West Maui and have a shuttle for our guests, so like I said, either West Maui or South Maui will be fine.

Currently Mulligan%26#39;s has Murray Thorne%26#39;s ';other'; band (as opposed to his Celtic Tigers, which play on Sundays). This would probably be your best bet, but it is Wailea. You say you are staying west Maui? Mulligan%26#39;s would be close to the Seawatch or Nick%26#39;s, but that%26#39;s a lot ride home from Wailea later.

Is this happening soon? Entertainment tends to change quite a bit around here. What you%26#39;ll find this week might be gone next month. I can think of a few places in Lahaina that might suit your needs, but unless you%26#39;ll be here within the month, I think you need to wait until closer to your wedding date to plan this part.
