sunset wedding beaches?...

We%26#39;re getting married on a Saturday in early August. Does anyone have any recommendations for an uncrowded, beautiful beach location??? (It will be for just the two of us)

sunset wedding beaches?...

Hi have you tried contacting a wedding planner for some free advice? You may want to give these a try: A Dream Wedding Maui Style - www.adreamwedding.net, A Romantic Maui Wedding - www.justmauied.com, Maui Angels (my friend used them and was very pleased) www.maui-angels.com - email weddings@maui-angels.com, Aloha Hawaii Weddings - www.alohahawaiiweddings.com, email info@alohahawaiiweddings.com - These sites all offer small / intimate wedding packages (as per Paradise Family Guides Maui by Christie Stilson). As well, be sure to check the Maui Visitors Bureau - www.visitmaui.com Good luck and congratulations!

sunset wedding beaches?...

Aloha. I just got back from Maui Sunday and I am still on Maui time so a little sleepy.

We fot married in Maui in 1994 and we checked out many locations witht he help of our photgrapher but the one we liked most was South Malawaka beach park behind the Maui prince hotel. It is uncrowded and clean. We went with a sunset ceremony nad have no regrets.

We visited the beach last week and it is still clean and lovely.

Good luck.

Thank you for the advice! I just don%26#39;t want to be bombarded by beachgoers and other wedding parties...

Maui prince is a beautiful beach for weddings, not crowded really, but when we go there on Saturday near sunset we always see at least one wedding and usually two. Same with Kapalua. That%26#39;s the thing with the best wedding spots, they are popular, especially on Saturdays.

But the wedding parties are not on top of one another; there are a few different spots where they do them. Most of the time there are no guests or only a few guests at these weddings, actually. The beach crowds really thin out before sunset, and the few remaining beachgoers are usually respectful and give you space.

thank you kawena, that makes me feel so much better... :-)

Newtomaui,

Just got back yesterday (celebrating our 2 year anniversay). I hired a photographer for a beach shoot and he took us to this beautiful beach in Weilea. I forgot the name of the beach but it is just past the Emerald Golf Course and The Fairmont Kea Lani Resort. There were a couple very small weddings (less than 10 people) when we got there to do the shoot. He told us that very few visitors get to see that beach. It was truely special. I%26#39;ll share a few pics once I write my trip reiew.

I%26#39;ll get the name of the beach from my photographer. George Wolf was our photographer if you are looking for a reasonably priced photgrapher.

It may have been Polo Beach. I am thinking of staying at the Polo Beach Club just to have sunset pics on that beach for our wedding next year.

how about wedding places with cliffs (overlooking the ocean hopefully) or waterfalls?

newtomaui, I also recommend the Maui Prince. Check on their website under %26#39;weddings%26#39;, they have a form for you to fill out and someone will contact you. As I mentioned on a previous post, I attended a friend%26#39;s wedding on the grounds of Maui Prince and it was just beautiful...

As I write this, we are still here at the Polo Beach Club. We have been here a couple of weeks and in just these 2 weeks, there have been two very small, intimate weddings on the beach in front of our condo. It%26#39;s a beautiful, clean, isolated (for the most part) beach. The only thing that got in the way of the last photographer were 3 local fishermen who didn%26#39;t care that they were going to be in all the newleywed%26#39;s wedding pics!
