Any Embassy Vacation Resort at Poipu Point Owners?

We currently own a week at EVR Poipu Point in Kauai that is now affiliated with Sunterra. When we bought our week there it was under the old ';floating week'; system with RCI. We would like to convert to Sunterra/II point system. I understand that in order to convert to the Sunterra/II point system, we have to buy another week. We don%26#39;t really want another week in Hawaii ...I believe I%26#39;m able to buy another week at any Sunterra property, let%26#39;s say a Sunterra in St. Maarten, and then I could pull my EVR Poipu Week into the point system and combine the two. I believe this would give me two ';home'; resorts, 1 in St. Maarten and 1 in Kauai. ...Here%26#39;s my question to any fellow EVR Poipu Point owner:

1. Has anyone done something similar in order to convert weeks to points? ...if so, was it successful?

Thank you for any help you can give!

You could do a big email to owners listed at P.P. and hope to get a bite.

Any Embassy Vacation Resort at Poipu Point Owners?

Saabguy,

I am not an owner, but I will be exchanging (through Interval International) to EVR in September for my honeymoon. Can you give any insight to the place, its qualities and amenities? I%26#39;ve heard some good and bad things, just looking for another opinion. Thanks...

Maniac,

We are going to stay at Embassey in Nov. My son owns a unit there. He has been twice and says it is very nice, especially the units with oceanfront. No swimming beach right in front but near by and everything else nice. Right next to Hyatt so you can go over there for drinks or eating if you want to go out.

We stayed at the Embassy last September and are returning this September - we loved it! No, there is no beach nearby (you can%26#39;t swim at the nearest, Shipwreck) but the pool area is great - only 4 feet deep all the way across and a fake beach on one side of the pool (more like little pebbles than sand). The units are clean and spacious - they were getting ready to upgrade the furnishings last winter - not sure what that timeline was.

Go to the timeshare presentation, even if you%26#39;re not interested in buying - we got $100 credit for any activity (used it for Inter-Island heli tour), 10% off other activities, and 2 for 1 luau next door at the Hyatt. The concierges are extremely knowledgeable about the area and really enjoy helping you find great restaurants and activities.

Try to get an oceanview or ocean front suite on the second floor or higher - we had a partial ocean view and it was spectacular!

Oh gosh, what else was cool? The hot tub, the outdoor grills, the cabana where you can borrow/rent beach towels and chairs, the orientation breakfast, having a kitchen to save costs on food, the wonderful landscaping of the grounds... I could go on for days.

One last thing - you may hear about wild chickens running all over Kauai and cockroaches the size of your hand - never saw one of either any where near the grounds of the Embassy - they must have one heck of an exterminator on staff!

Or someone who likes fried chicken!!!! And hold it down about chickens. If my wife sees that, she will freak out!!!
