rocdoc, when are you leaving for Maui

So whens the big day? Tell us again where you are staying?

rocdoc, when are you leaving for Maui

Hi Hula40!

I think you and I are leaving pretty close to the same time. We leave for Oahu on June 23. Then we go to Maui on June 26 - July 3.

In Oahu we are going to be staying at the Hilton Hawaiin Village and in Maui we will be staying 4 days at the Maui Kamole and 3 days at the Fairmont Kea Lani. I am thinking about booking a one night stay at the Ohana Maui Islander when we go to the Old Lahaina Luau (Only need a place to sleep so I know it isn%26#39;t 4star). This way we should be able to spend all day before the Luau and wake up to eat at some of the great eating places in Lahaina before heading back to the other side of the island. I think we will have just about the entire island experience covered.

I still have to book a tour van for the Road to Hana and I am excited about doing either a trip or drive to the Ioa Needle area. So for us, Oahu will be the warm up but Maui will be the slam dunk.

When are you going?

We will cross paths, we leave on saturday and will be there until the 5th of july. I am just looking forward to relaxing in the sun!

PS Just drive to the needle yourselves, it%26#39;s not far.

Hey hula,

Is there much of a cost to go to the park that is/in the Iao Needle? My son would love to see a volcano of any kind so this looked like a good place to start.

I don%26#39;t think there is a cost at all, it%26#39;s just a beautiful mountain area with lots of foilage, walking paths etc. It%26#39;s a short drive from south Maui so dont waste money on a van tour.

One other thing hula40, would you recommend the Halealaka Mountain tour (I know I butchered that word).

I haven%26#39;t been on a Haleakala Tour but I would recommend driving up yourselves
