Need a shuttle from airport to Kaanapali.

Four of us are renting a convertible when we land in January, but know that our luggage will not all fit in it. Need a shuttle or other idea please. Thanks...Mahalo.

Need a shuttle from airport to Kaanapali.

1. Make two trips. Leave a couple people to shop at Costco or one of the other centers nearby the airport (or at the beach, or a bar nearby, etc...).

2. Pay for one person to ride a shuttle to Kaanapali and have them take along a bunch of the luggage. It costs like $45 one-way depending on the number of bags.

3. Have one or two persons take a taxi. Cost is $55+.

Most shuttle operators don%26#39;t want to (can%26#39;t?) except luggage without a commensurate passenger, it has to do with security and the type of license under which they operate.

Good luck on this one. Just fitting two people in the back seat is going to be tight.

Did I write ';except';...?

Of course, I mean ';accept';...

I can%26#39;t blame it on too much sun or heat here in the northwest, just stupidity.

A combination of Bungee Cords (about 40 of %26#39;em) %26amp; Duct tape should do the trick...as long as you pile half the stuff on the roof %26amp; wedge a couple of suitbags under the hood.

Suggest max. speed of 20mph; don%26#39;t forget to run the emergency flashers %26amp; pull over to let folks pass ever couple of miles.

(P.S. Please take a picture %26amp; post it on Trip Advisor.)

rent two cars for the first day. Plan your trip so that you head back toward the airport on day two (Hana, Haleakala, etc)...or see what it would cost to rent two cars and return one at the West Maui rental locations (near the West Maui airport).

Pack lighter! We always have to laugh at the cars bulging with luggage. What in the world could be in those bags? All you%26#39;ll need is some swimwear, a couple pair of shorts, a little dress or aloha shirt for dinner, some slippahs. If I can do a week in New York, complete with business dinners and a show, with a single carry-on, you can certainly do Maui with less luggage. Less schlepping, less worries.

Yeah, but the first time you bring everything! We make it with three 22'; cases for two of us, and that includes snorkel gear for two, (masks, snorkel, fins), a couple bottles of wine, misc food that I just have to bring, books, towels (I always bring them for some dumb reason), binoculars, and all our clothes and toiletries to last 7 days. Our kids, when they go, get one small checked bag each.

Thanks everyone for your tips. I%26#39;ll be sure to send you a pic, Kamaa. (hahaha!)
