How to get to Kauai from Oahu

Hi there,

Is there a ferry service that runs between the Islands? I know it%26#39;s easier to take internal flights - just can%26#39;t be bothered with the hassle of checking in and out at the airport.

Any advice is much appreciated...

There are ferry services from Maui to Molokai and Lanai, but no ferry services right now to Kauai. Supposedly one will be available early 2007.

That breaks my heart. Is there a tour that goes there from Oahu?

You could get an air-car package (plus hotel if you stay over) from Oahu to Lihue. Lihue airport is very small. It is easy to get in and out and on be on your way, no long lines. Honolulu has more people traffic, but very unlike the crowds at JFK or Heathrow. I cannot think of any formal tours originating from Oahu to Lihue. There are, however, many varieties of day tours (boat, helicopter or vehicle) once you arrive in Lihue.

There%26#39;s got to be a tour from Oahu? It%26#39;s a neighbouring island.

Okay, okay, click on this.

Oahu and Kauai may be neighboring islands, but there is 90 miles of ocean separating them. So, not real close neighbors. The only tour option is to fly.

Thank you so much.

Now what about a tour to Maui from Oahu? I%26#39;m serious, i%26#39;m serious about doing both.

That same company does Oahu to Maui as well.

I, too, was serious when I made the earlier post recommending the website (www.hawaiiactivities.com) in response to your inquiry for an Oahu to Kauai tour. Using that same website, go to:

1. the ';activities box';;

2. scroll down until you see ';inter island tours';;

3. scroll down through the various ';inter island tours'; until

you see the ';Oahu to Maui'; tour, priced at $265.00,

conducted by the Polynesian Adventures tour company;

Get a good night%26#39;s rest.
