Pahala ?

Does anyone know much about Pahala ? Any info will help. I will be visiting the BI this May and was thing of staying in this area for about a week.

A former plantation town. Nothing happening in this area. Very country, layed back. You%26#39;ll only see %26#39;locals%26#39; around the area. No shopping malls, etc. If you want to get to the beach, you%26#39;ll have to drive to Punaluu Beach (not sure of the distance-maybe 10 min.)

It%26#39;s about as remote as you can get on the isle, macnut orchards pastureland and lava, not much else.

You will be 2 hours south of Kona....one way and an hour from Volcano...one way There are very few places to eat or get supplies. There are no visitor services of any kind that I know of
