Embassy Maui - Timeshare Deal

I am looking at the special offered at the Embassy Kaanapali Resort - 5 nights, car rental, breakfast and $100 in spending credit. To get this deal you have to listen to the timeshare presentation. Has anyone else done this? How presured are the sales people?

Embassy Maui - Timeshare Deal

Wow; dollar value of that offer is probably $1,500.

Never thought I%26#39;d say it about a timeshare presentation, but WOW!

Probably not worth mentioning, but on the last day, if they lock you in a soundproof room %26amp; say ';sign, or else';, go ahead %26amp; do it; believe you have 48 hours to back-out. (Please verify this.)

PS, if they ask you for referrals, please keep ole kama in mind.

Embassy Maui - Timeshare Deal

Oops (maybe).

This isn%26#39;t one of those offers wherein you are required to purchase airfare from them at the ';special'; rate of $1,500 r/t per person is it?

No, it is 6 days/5 nights, compact car, 2 adult breakfast daily, $100 in hotel credits, and free parking (I think that is $12/day)for $749. In exchange, you sit through their ';90 presentation.'; We are going to our home resort for one week and want to add Maui on for the remaining days. We already booked air using FF miles. Just need to book the interisland.

is flight included in the 700?

We went to one of their timeshare presentations in Nov. We didn%26#39;t do the deal you mention but rather went because we were staying close enough nearby to walk over and they offered $100 in cash. How it worked was each couple was given their own ';salesman'; who took us to a table, went through the finances/benefits/etc. and then gave us a tour of the resort. We actually ended up staying 2 hr. and 15 min. because we didn%26#39;t want to offend the saleswoman by making her rush through her spiel--(We should have been more forceful in making them stick to the agreed upon time limit.) Anyway, it wasn%26#39;t what I would call high pressure--however, after the ';supervisor'; came and talked to us at the end, we felt she was somewhat degrading in her attitude that we were being foolish to pass up this limited-time offer (which later checking condo resales we found was drastically overpriced). We never seriously considered buying at that time as we%26#39;re the type who do heavy duty research before making major decisions and they want you to commit on the spot. Immediately afterwards we somewhat regretted going but shook off that feeling quickly by hitting a snorkeling beach (and later enjoying the $100.) The suites were beautiful, the grounds and pools were excellent. I think the offer they%26#39;re making would be great if you realize that that couple of hours isn%26#39;t going to be the most pleasant but if you have a plan to immediately follow it up with a fun Maui activity to get your mind back into vacation mode, it could be the way to go.

Oh, something I forgot in my post--when I say making plans for a quick activity to get your mind off the experience, I meant an ';on your own'; activity as you aren%26#39;t allowed to have scheduled any sort of organized, paid-for activity for 5 hours. (They say this is because if you decide to buy, they have to be given sufficient time to get all papers gone over and signed.)

If that $749 is the total, sounds like a deal. If it%26#39;s per person, you probably really need to sharpen the pencil.

Might want to check to see if any ';hidden fees';; an at check-in surprise in Maui might mean OK, or sleep on the beach. (We extended our upcoming mid-February stay by 3 days last week and not one of the dozen places I had bookmarked had a vacancy.)

As a side note to others considering this offer, it does not apply to the residents of all states, check the fine print closely.

Having said that, we have stayed at this property twice and it is a wonderful place. I personally would not give up the time for the presentation since I would never buy a timeshare and my vacation time is worth more to me than the savings they offer.

I am going in May. Does anyone know where I can get this offer from?

mauiembassy.com/minivac/…resortAmenities.html

is where the offer is listed.

Read all the fine print.
