Wedding Vow Renewal - Coordinator Recommendations?

We know what we want: a simple ';Hawaiian style'; renewal ceremony for just the two of us, performed @ Kapalua Bay beach by a local minister, accompanied only by a beautiful Maui sunset. An invisible photographer would be OK too.

What we need is someone to pull it together at a reasonable price. Surfing around, there seems to be a plethora of alleged consultants, but no objective reviews or opinions to help us choose.

So I ask...any words of wisdom regarding wedding consultants?

Wedding Vow Renewal - Coordinator Recommendations?

Thanks Localgirl for the response... a good site... one of many many out there.

One of the sites said that over 10,000 ';destination weddings'; are performed on Maui every year.... so maybe there%26#39;s someone on this forum who has an experience to share?

Miney good for you guys. God Bless and have a wonderful time.

Thanks Jeeper - and to all of you who have provided such constructive and often humorous insight and advice!

Miney love the picture. Well I don%26#39;t know about the advise but it is fun bantering back and forth. I get way to serious with life and this fourm helps me keep a little better handle on things.

Aloha Miney,

We were married at The Kapalua Bay Hotel in 2000 by Rev. Charlie Hull of Dolphin Dream Weddings in Maui. It was all perfect! From the videographer, photographer (Michael Andrews Studio should you go it on your own) the flowers, to the location on the cliff at sunset with just the two of us ~~~ perfect! Charlie arranged everything and we did the whole thing over the net from San Diego to Maui. I was a little nervous but it was all perfect. Go to their site. Lots of info and great pictures of Charlie and Jennifer Hull. You can not ask for more.

Though Charlie is retired now, the company is still there and I found out that he does still do renewals as we spoke via email briefly.

We will be at Kapalua Bay Hotel for our 5 year in 10 days and can not wait.

Anyhow, hope this helps.

Mahalo,

Married on Maui

Jeeper - your picture%26#39;s fabulous too - thems some lips! How serious can you be surrounded by all these characters? And as for the advice, it can be colorful for sure.

Married - thanks for sharing your experience. Is there a better place in the world to spend an anniversary? I believe youre about 200 hours from being on Maui time.

We plan to scope out a few location options before the event and this cliff option sounds awesome. Have been to Kapalua before but not familiar with this - can you elaborate? Is it part of the hotel property (as in the grassy area to the north of the beach extending from the hotel pool are, which I believe costs $$$), or is this a public area along the beach?

Marriedonmau, I wish I could see your wedding picture close up, it looks like your dress was beautiful..what a beautiful place to say your vows. Wow.

You got it Miney. It is up on a cliff, on the grass, it is private so no one will be walking through the ceremony. It does cost for the site but since it was a package deal I do not know the cost for just the site.

It was perfect. Expedia has a beach pictures of Kapalua Bay Hotel and it shows the cliff where they did (not sure if they still do) weddings at. Perfection.

Let me know if I can answer any other questions for you.

Best of luck,

Married on Maui 2000

Aloha Miney,

Great idea; did it myself (with my Wife, of course) on the Big Island not long ago.

You%26#39;ve received some great advice, but I have one request: If your Hubby (yeah that Big Unsentimental Slob) gets all choked-up and sheds a tear, please don%26#39;t make fun of him...well maybe gently would be OK.

It%26#39;s going to be Beautiful!
